Claudia Gold

 

 

Claudia M. Gold, M.D. is a pediatrician and author with a long-standing interest in addressing children’s mental health needs in a preventive model. She has practiced general and behavioral pediatrics for over 20 years, and currently specializes in early childhood mental health. She is the author of Keeping Your Child in Mind: Overcoming Defiance, Tantrums and Other Everyday Behavior Problems by Seeing the World through Your Child’s Eyes, and the forthcoming Listening to Parents and Children: Protecting Space and Time for Growth, Healing and Resilience (Da Capo) and The Developmental Science of Early Childhood: A Practical Guide to Infant Mental Health For Therapists and Other Professionals (Norton.) She writes regularly for Psychology Today and on her blog, Child in Mind . She is a graduate of the UMass Boston Infant-Parent Mental Health Post-Graduate Certificate Program, and is on the faculty of the Brazelton Institute, the Berkshire Psychoanalytic Institute and the Austen Riggs Center. She received her BA and MD from the University of Chicago.
